Buffalo Police Chief Jason Carder answered a question from the public at the last city council meeting concerning 9-1-1 phone calls.
Larry Larson said he had read in the paper about accidental 9-1-1 calls. His question was if there were multiple accidental calls from the same number, if there was any kind of “nuisance charge” or something similar for the officers wasting their time calling the numbers back and/or checking the residence to see if there were any problems.

The chief said said all they can do then is send the information off to the county attorney for them to follow up and try to recoup some costs.
Carder also reported that there were 1,097 incidents in the month of November, and that dispatch had handled 3,335 total calls during the month.
Animal Control Officer Karen Kimutis had no animal calls in the county during the month.
