Police Arrest 3 For Suspected Drive-By BB Shooting, Drugs

The Sheridan Police Department arrested three young males last night for allegedly shooting a BB gun from a moving vehicle as it drove through the streets of town. No people were reported injured, but multiple reports of damaged vehicles are property are still being collected. Patrol Officer, Howie Fitzpatrick, with the Sheridan Police, explains what happened.

Fitzpatrick said later that night, at about 7:30 p.m., officers found a white Chevrolet pickup matching the description of the suspect vehicle.

The individuals arrested were Shane Merkey, 19, David Wilson, 18, and Trennis Jones, age 24. Fitzpatrick said so far, all men are charged only with misdemeanors, but reports of damaged property are still coming in. If the estimated damage exceeds a higher dollar amount, the suspects will be charged with felonies.

The men are currently in police custody and are expected to appear in court this afternoon.
