The Powder Pass Nordic Club will have their annual Pole Creek Challenge race this Saturday, February 4 at the Pole Creek Nordic Ski Area west of Buffalo.
Allison Barnes, with the Powder Pass Nordic Club, said the race will begin promptly at 10am, and those wanting to participate should be registered at least 15 minutes before the start.
She tells us more about the race.
Refreshments and an area to get warm will be offered at the Nordic Area's trailhead. Barnes said this is the largest winter event for the club, and the biggest fundraiser for them, with proceeds going back into maintaining the trails and Nordic areas.
They are always willing to welcome new members, and information will be available at the event for those interested in becoming a member of the club.
Pre-register for $10 per participant today by stopping by the Johnson County Family YMCA, or registrations will be accepted the day of the race for $15 per person.
The Pole Creek Nordic Area is located Approximately 20 miles west of Buffalo on Highway 16.
