PLUC Updates Commissioners on 3 Poles Recreation Area

The 3 Poles Recreation Area in Sheridan County opened to the public in 2009 and offers almost 50 acres of land for off-road enthusiasts to enjoy. Bill Adsit with the Public Land Users Committee updated the Sheridan County Parks and Recreation Board, which is made up of the Sheridan County Commissioners, on the status of the recreation area. Adsit stated that PLUC intends to apply for some grants this year for additional reclamation work. He also asked if the County could help out with paying for some signage for 3 Poles in the future.

County Commissioner Steve Maier says that PLUC has done a good job with the area since it opened to the public.

Adsit also expressed that PLUC would like to get involved in cleaning up the Buffalo Run area if the County would be willing to help with the dump fees when removing all of the abandoned junk in the area.

While the County Rec. Board made no decision on the committee's requests, they agreed to keep communication open between the two entities moving forward.
