Zackery Morrison Sentencing Delayed

In Sheridan County District Court Tuesday morning, 19-year-old Zackery Morrison went before Judge John Fenn to receive sentencing on a 3rd Degree sexual abuse of a minor conviction. The court had ordered Morrison to undergo a psycho-sexual evaluation, which he has not yet had because of confusion over who is going to foot the bill for counseling services.

Sheridan College Students Are Offering Tax Assistance Once Again This Year

Students at Sheridan College are once again offering free income tax assistance through the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program sponsored by the IRS. Wyoming Bill to Ban Texting While Driving Advances

CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) - A bill that would ban Wyoming drivers from sending text messages has cleared two important legislative hurdles. Democratic Senator Floyd Esquibel of Cheyenne is the prime sponsor of the bill, Senate File 20. He says that banning texting while driving would improve highway safety in the state.

Sheridan School District 2 Board Passes MDU Resolution

Just as the City of Sheridan and Sheridan County have done in the past two weeks, Sheridan County School District 2 trustees passed a resolution to oppose the proposed MDU rate increase.

District 2 Trustees Approve Stimulus Money Grant Proposal

Of the agenda items on which School District 2 Trustees took action Monday night, one was approval of the stimulus fund proposal, including 11 temporary positions. The nearly $1.8 million dollars received through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act will go to paying for the staff, as well as purchasing state-of-the-art technology enhancements and professional development programs.
