Tongue River Fall Fest

It was the 2nd annual Fall Fest Saturday in Dayton at the Scott Bicentennial Park. An end of summer celebration put on by the Town of Dayton and Tongue River Valley Community Center, a small crowd gathered for food, music, and an assortment of vendors.

The Sheridan City Council will address a number of different issues at their first meeting of September tonight, as there are over twenty items on the agenda. Users of Mavrakis Pond will be glad to know that the parking lot may be getting a new look very soon.

WGFD: Tips on Avoiding Black Bear Conflicts for Sheridan County

Last week we reported what Yellowstone National Park advises visitors as to what they should be aware of when dealing with grizzly bears, as the park is conducting its seasonal grizzly studies amid a recent fatal grizzly attack. For Sheridan-area residents, according to WGFD Information Officer Warren Mischke, communities like Big Horn, Story and Dayton should also take certain precautions to avoid bear conflicts.

The City of Sheridan continues to restore the South Park area.

Restoration of the South Park area in south Sheridan has been an ongoing effort by the City over the last several years. Stream enhancements and a pathway extension project will most likely be the next improvements made to the area.
