In news coming in from Washington about Tuesday's election, U.S. Senator John Barrasso, a Republican from Wyoming who was not up for re-election, said the vote shows that Americans want Republicans sent to Washington to end the gridlock and start solving problems.
Challenger Mike Johnson has won the race for Buffalo's Mayor, defeating incumbent Randy Dyess.
Johnson received 1,010 votes or 62% of the votes cast and Dyess received 553 votes or 34% of the votes cast.
Voters in Johnson County chose to give current Governor Matt Mead another term in office.
Mead won the county with 2,179 votes. Pete Gosar finished with 812; and Don Wills finished with 156. Dee Cozzens had 51 votes in the county.
The renewal of the optional one-cent sales tax in Sheridan County passed easily during Tuesday's General Election as 68 percent of voters were in favor of continuing the tax. Sheridan County Commissioner Terry Cram weighs in on the outcome.
Mark Jennings, Republican Candidate for State Representative for House District 30, which covers a portion of Sheridan, garnered 2,068 votes to beat out Independent Val Burgess, who ran as a write-in candidate.
