In 2006, the original planned unit development conceptual plan for the Poplar Grove Subdivision northwest of Skeels Street in Sheridan was approved by the City's Planning Commission. After the development of the first phase of the project, the original developer lost the property to foreclosure.
The Planning Commission has approved the third phase of the project, as the property was purchased and continues to be developed. City Engineer Lane Thompson.
Thompson added that the proposed third phase consists of 20 additional lots for residential development, two tracts for future development, a large open space out-lot to locate a neighborhood park, and a smaller out-lot to provide access to open space.
An additional smaller tract on the western edge of the subdivision provides a location for recreational amenities and connection to the development's western open space. As established in the Revised Conceptual Plan, lots may be developed either as detached units or duplexes. The project will be considered by the City Council at their April 7 meeting.
