Sheridan's newest senior housing facility is having an open house this weekend. Housing Coordinator Dennis Meanor (ME-nor) invites everyone to come see Penrose Place at 667 East Sixth Street.
The coordinator said the open house began Friday and continues today.
He said the facility has 14 one-bedroom apartments on two floors. Three are accessible for those with mobility issues, and one offers visual/hearing impaired access. All the units are pet-friendly, although limited to a dog or cat under 30 pounds. The units are available to single people or couples, but the head of the household must be 62 or older. Housing and Urban Development guidelines are used to determine age and income eligibility.
The facility opened in March and already has four residents. The facility is owned by Volunteers of America, and managed by VOA of the Northern Rockies. The coordinator said the Sheridan facility is the newest unit here. There are two facilities in Billings and one in Torrington.
