Paving On 196 South of Buffalo Completed

Ronda Holwell, District 4 Public Involvement Specialist with the Wyoming Department of Transportation's Sheridan Office reports that contractor McGarvin Moberly of Worland has completed paving the five mile stretch of Wyoming Highway 196 south of Buffalo from mile post 294.5 to 299.5.
The contractor will remain in the area next week for clean-up work. This project was a Highway For Life project and the Wyoming Department of Transportation received a $500,000 grant to assist with this project.
The purpose of Highways for LIFE (HfL) is to advance Longer-lasting highway infrastructure using Innovations to accomplish the Fast construction of Efficient and safe highways and bridges.
The project included the rehabilitation of pavement along both 12 foot travel lanes and a turning lane for approximately a mile of the project length. The project was done using warm mix asphalt for 2/3 of the surface and hot mix asphalt for the remaining 1/3 of the surface.
