The 65-foot conifer from Wyoming's Bridger-Teton National Forest that will be making its way to the Nation's Capitol will have a party thrown for it when it stops in Buffalo next Monday night. The tree will make a stop in Sheridan earlier in the day and then travel into Buffalo to spend the night at the Wyoming Department of Transportation building on West Fort Street.
The tree is scheduled to arrive just before 4 pm Monday and the festivities will take place from 4 to 6 pm. Buffalo Chamber of Commerce Director Angela Jarvis explains:
Jarvis said this is the first time the State of Wyoming has given the Capitol their Christmas Tree and this may not happen again for another 50 years, so everyone should stop and have fun, enjoy some hot chocolate and homemade cookies and wish the tree well on its journey.
