(UPDATE 7 am): Phone service has been restored to these areas, according to Sheridan County Emergency Management Coordinator Dave Coleman. We will have more on the story later today.
Sheridan Media has learned that parts of southern Sheridan County are without telephone service. The areas affected are Banner and the area in the vicinity of Story.
Sheridan County Emergency Management Coordinator Dave Coleman said that the Wyoming Public Service Commission has been notified and has been in contact with Century Link about the issue.
A representative from Century Link has indicated that they are working on finding the cause of the outage and that land line phone service may be out until late Thursday evening.
Coleman said that if the outage is affecting your area, you should use a cell phone if possible or go to a friend's or a family member's home if you have no cell phone and must use a land line.
