No recommendation was made by the three person panel committee that is in charge of reviewing the proposals that were submitted to the City of Sheridan for providing ambulance service to the City.
The committee met Monday of this week and decided that a recommendation would be made to City department heads at one final meeting Wednesday.
The decision to prolong the recommendation was primarily to further analyze the dual role proposal from Sheridan Fire-Rescue. City Council President and Panel Committee member John Bigelow says that the 50% rate increase that is included in SFR's proposal is something that he needed a little more time to examine.
Sheridan Police Chief Richard Adriaens stated at the meeting that the number of projected calls that is in the proposal from Sheridan Fire-Rescue is what concerns him.
Adriaens says that if the call number ends up being much lower than what is in the proposal, it could end up increasing the $150,000 subsidy from the City considerably.
The panel committee is expected to make a recommendation today, which will then be forwarded on to the City's department heads for review before ultimately coming before City Council for consideration.
