Governor Signs Juvenile Detention Bill

CHEYENNE, (AP) - Governor Dave Freudenthal has signed into law
a measure establishing standards for when police should take detained juveniles to jail. The Legislature's Joint Judiciary Interim Committee sponsored House Bill 12, which Freudenthal signed Thursday.

Clearmont Student Wins Writing Award

An Arvada/Clearmont High School senior, Judah Lovato, son of Mike and Linda Lovato, won the state competition for Poetry Outloud this past weekend, and will now be traveling to Washington DC to represent Wyoming in the national competition at the end of April. 

Governor Freudenthal Not Seeking Re-election

Governor Dave Freudenthal issued the following statement this morning at a news conference, after announcing he will not seek a third term. Furthermore, the Governor says that he looks forward to what's to come and had nothing but good things to say about his colleagues through the years.Governor added.

Wyoming Governor Signs Law Adopting Cowboy Ethics

The principles of "cowboy ethics" are now part of Wyoming law, as yesterday, Governor Freudenthal signed legislation adopting an official Wyoming state code.

The symbolic measure spells out ten ethics derived from a "Code of the West," outlined in a book by author and retired Wall Street investor James Owen.

Various Special Needs Agencies Participating in "Disabilities Awareness Month"

Monday we shared with you that RENEW clients and staff joined Mayor Dave Kinskey on the front steps of Sheridan City Hall for the official proclamation that March is "Disabilities Awareness Month."
