Lummis Pushes for More Access to Wyoming Public TV

U.S. Representative Cynthia Lummis, has introduced the "Statewide Public Television Access Act," to enable every DISH Network subscriber in the state to have full access to Wyoming Public Television.

Wyoming Farmers Testing Oilseed Crops

CHEYENNE, (AP) - Wyoming's agriculture industry is conducting research on growing and processing oilseed crops in an effort to diversify farming in the state. Donn Randall of the Wyoming Business Council says there are about 1,500 new acres of test crops around the state. They include varieties of camelina, canola and sunflowers.

Work On Cheyenne Supercomputer To Begin In Spring

CHEYENNE, (AP) - Construction on a climate-modeling supercomputing facility near Cheyenne is expected to begin next spring. Governor Dave Freudenthal announced Friday that design work is expected to be done by next March, with construction to follow soon after.

Child Development Center Opens New Location

The Child Development Center Region 2 is based here in Sheridan and has outgrown it’s Linden Street facility. For the past two years they have been using rooms in the old Highland Park school to accommodate the increase in children qualifying for services. The Center receives Federal and some State funding to provide help for children with developmental delays until they turn 5-years-old.

Crazy Days Popular With Downtown Shoppers

You don’t have to be crazy to shop for good deals but it certainly helps this weekend in downtown Sheridan. The annual Crazy Days event started yesterday and even the weather cooperated to make it a wonderful way to begin the crazy weekend. Crystal Sullivan was one of the many shoppers taking advantage of the deals in downtown shops.

Sheridan County Fair Ramps Up For Big Weekend

Stilts, clowns, and concerts are just some of the things waiting for you at this year’s Sheridan County Fair. Cows, rabbits, poultry and goats were all shown yesterday and the evening ended with a youth concert and dance featuring the Whitlocks. It was definitely a busy day at the fair.

4th Annual Big West Arts Festival Is This Weekend At Sheridan College

The 4th annual Big West Arts Festival will take place on the front lawn of Sheridan College this weekend. Festival Director Rod Dugal says that artists from all over the nation will be displaying their work for viewing and for sale.

Economist Urges Wyoming To Adopt Spending Limits

CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) - A Colorado economist says Wyoming should adopt a "taxpayers bill of rights" to limit spending.

The University of Colorado's Barry Poulson told the Wyoming Legislature's Interim Revenue Committee Tuesday that spending has increased at an unsustainable rate over the past decade.

No Imminent Compromise On Health Reform Bill

CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) - U.S. Sen. Mike Enzi of Wyoming says the Senate Finance Committee is making a lot of progress but remains far from close to a compromise on health care reform.

Enzi is one of six committee members - three Republicans and three Democrats - who've been trying to hash out a compromise on a health care bill.

Traffic Detours Will Change In Downtown Again Next Week

Sheridan County Fair Continues Through The Weekend

There’s only a few more days of the Sheridan County Fair this year. Open class competitions begin today and the entertainers will arrive. Tonight the Whitlocks will perform a concert underneath the grandstands at 8:00, after the pocket pets show in the sale ring.
