Sheridan Memorial Has An Unusually Busy Summer

Typically, the summer months for hospitals are slower than usual. That wasn't the case at Sheridan Memorial Hospital as Chief Financial Officer Ed Johlman points out.

Johlman said that most hospitals see a downturn during the summer due to vacations and people putting off procedures until the fall and winter months.

School District Two Continues To Excel In Elementary Education

Earlier this month Sagebrush Elementary School was one of two schools in the state to be recognized as a Blue Ribbon School. The national award is given out annually by the U.S. Department of Education to schools that are academically superior and that demonstrate dramatic gains in student achievement to high levels.

Wyoming Veterans Museum Has New Permanent Hours

CASPER, Wyo. (AP) - The Wyoming Veterans Memorial Museum has new permanent hours of operation. The museum, located in Casper on the grounds of the Natrona County International Airport, is now open Tuesday through Saturday from 9 am to 4 pm and Sunday from 1 to 4 pm. It is closed on Mondays.

Civic Theater Guild To Kick Off Season Next Weekend

The Sheridan Civic Theater Guild will begin its 54th season next Friday night, October 2nd with a Paul Zindel-written play entitled “The Effect of Gamma Rays on Man-in-the-Moon Marigolds”. The play is being directed by Malcom Wallop, who explains why they are getting a little bit later start than usual.

1st Annual Clear Creek Cannon Shoot Gets Underway This Friday

The first annual Clear Creek Cannon Shoot will take place this Friday, Saturday and Sunday at the C Bar B Ranch east of Buffalo. Fort Phil Kearney Site Superintendent Bob Wilson says there will be a number of different types of cannons at the shoot.

Grant Awarded To Create Database For The Eastern Shosone Language

The National Science Foundation has awarded a $200,000 grant to help create a database of the Eastern Shoshone language. University of Wyoming American Indian Studies Program Director, Judy Antell, says the database will be the basis for the future development of additional Eastern Shoshone language and teaching materials.
