Explosion in Billings Destroys Home

BILLINGS, Mont. (AP) - Billings police say nobody was injured in an explosion that destroyed one home and damaged three others.

Commissioners Approves CUP for SAWS Clearwell Tank

The Sheridan County Commissioners made quick work out of a short agenda Tuesday. Commissioners approved a Conditional Use Permit from the SAWS Joint Powers Board to construct a buried 1.5 million gallon concrete water tank adjacent to the current Big Goose Water Treatment Plant.

Sheridan City Council Addresses Cablevision

The Sheridan City Council discussed the de-regulation of Cablevision at their meeting Monday night.

In June of 2010, New York based Cablevision purchased Bresnan Communications to the tune of $1.36 billion. Cablevision has elected to use the name Optimum, which is their brand for bundled services in their home metropolitan New York City Markets.

Tornado Spotted Near Billings Monday

Tornados circled the Billings area Monday night; no reports of any touching down.

As the country music group Sugarland performed in the RimRock Auto Arena at MetraPark in Billings Monday evening, tornado sirens were going off in the Heights area of the city. Emergency crews reported that a tornado had been spotted near Laurel, Montana.
