CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) - The Wyoming Department of Health has created a Web page with loan and scholarship information for students and workers in the medical field. The department created the site to help recruit and retain health care professionals in rural and underserved areas in Wyoming.

A 46-year-old Buffalo woman appeared in 4th Judicial District Court in Johnson County Monday for her 1st Degree Murder trial. Leah Benjamin is accused of intentionally shooting her estranged husband, Donald Benjamin, in May 2009.

In the last 8 months, Rehabilitation Enterprises of Northeast Wyoming, or RENEW, has laid off nearly 30% of its workforce. That’s 72 jobs that no longer exist in the organization. RENEW Chief Executive Officer Larry Samson says recent state budget cuts hit the non-profit hard, and it’s time to tap into the State’s rainy-day funds.

City Part Of High Tech Business Park Agreement With Forward Sheridan

The City of Sheridan will spend more than $8,000 toward the planning of a high-tech business park in Sheridan. The pledge was part of a planning-only grant application submitted to the Wyoming Business Council for $25,000. Forward Sheridan will administer the grant and proceed through the planning process.

Sheridan City Council Gets Financial Update

The Wyoming State Legislature will begin the 2010 budget session in a few weeks, and the City of Sheridan is looking at their financial status with possible reduction in state revenues on the horizon. City Treasurer Jennifer Reed provided the budget update at Monday night’s City Council meeting.

2010 Budget Session Is Less Than Three Weeks Away

Last week, United Blood Services teamed up with Sheridan Media and Sheridan High School for a blood drive that produced outstanding results. United Blood Services Donor Recruitment Representative, Shadd Cullinan, says that the numbers this year were considerably higher than last year.

Identities Of Murder Suspect And Victim Released By Authorities

A 28-year-old Sheridan man is in custody at the Sheridan County Detention Center, on suspicion of murder. Shawn Osborne was arrested by Sheridan Police on Friday afternoon. The body of 42-year-old Gerald Bloom of Sheridan was discovered in a residence at 1075 Bellevue Avenue in Sheridan.
