Arden Fire 0% Contained

The Arden Fire was detected on Tuesday and is currently at 0% containment. The fire has burned 350 acres of land as of noon Wednesday. At this time their is no confirmed cause or any structures being threatened.

Fire in the Kaycee Landfill

Monday afternoon a fire was reported at the Kaycee Landfill. Once the fire was started it spread quickly due to the winds.

Small Fire Controlled in the Bighorns

Monday evening, Bighorn National Forest and Johnson County Firefighters responded to a lightning caused wildfire off U.S. Highway 16 near Circle Park.

School District 2 Summer Institute Starts Today

The second annual Summer Institute, put on by Sheridan County School District 2, starts at 10 a.m. today at Sheridan College.

The New Vaudevillians will Grace the WYO Theater Stage for Four Weeks Starting Tonight

The annual "New Vaudevillians" Show at the WYO Theater begins a four week run tonight.

WYO theater executive Director Erin Butler says Sheridan had a long history of Vaudeville shows and says the "New Vaudevillians" keeps that history alive.

School District 2 Adopts Budget

Sheridan County School District 2 trustees adopted a budget Tuesday night that projects spending more than $66.6 million this year, including more than $49.4 million from the district's general fund.

[UPDATE] Firefighters Respond to Two Wildfires in the Bighorns

The lightning caused Buck Mountain fire has been contained holding it just under an acre in size. Air resources continue working on the Arden Fire near Shell Reservoir. The cause of this fire is still unknown. The fire has burned about 120 acres in timber. Additional firefighting resources, including six hand crews and engines, have been ordered to help with the fire. There are now closures in the areas. Follow this link to see the designated areas

Livestock Sale, 4-H Sale, Camping Topics at Ag Committee Meeting

A discussion of Superior Livestock Sales, a report on dispersed camping in the Bighorn National Forest and updates on the 4-H Buyers' reception and Beer Garden at the Sheridan County Fair were on the agenda of the Ag & Natural Resources Committee Tuesday.
