Earlier this year we reported that the Padlock Ranch was the recipient of this year's Leopold Conservation Award in Wyoming. The ranch has now been named a regional finalist for the National Cattlemen's Beef Association's Environmental Stewardship Award. The Environmental Stewardship Award was created to recognize beef producers who make environmental stewardship a priority on their farms and ranches while they also improve production and profitability.
The Padlock Ranch operates a sustainable and profitable cattle operation on 500,000 acres in Wyoming and Montana. The ranch is owned by the Scott family and managed by President and CEO Wayne Fahsholz. The national Environmental Stewardship Award winner will be named in early 2014.
