Sheridan County hosted an outdoor workshop Tuesday at South Park that focused on management of riparian areas in the County. The workshop was also an opportunity to take public input on the development of a Riparian Management Code that is currently in the strategic assessment phase of implementation.

County Planner Mark Reid says that there will be one more public workshop in January, then it's on to evaluating the options.

Reid said that ultimately, the goal of the Riparian Management Code will be to protect riparian resources throughout Sheridan County by creating new zoning and subdivision standards.
