29-year-old Sheridan resident Shawn Osborne was scheduled to be sentenced for 1st Degree Murder Thursday, January, 13th. That date has been postponed due to Osborne hiring his own Attorney, Keith Goody from Washington. Goody takes the place of Osborne's Trial Lawyer Robert Jones of Sheridan.
4th Judicial District Court Judge John Fenn granted the continuance; however, no specific date for the sentencing has been set at this time. Osborne was found guilty of 1st Degree Murder in November for killing Gerald Bloom at a mobile home on Bellevue Avenue in Sheridan last January. Prosecution opted not to seek the death penalty in the case, which means that Osborne faces life in prison.
