A brief pretrial conference was held Monday in 4th Judicial District Court for 29-year-old Sheridan resident Shawn Osborne, who is charged with 1st Degree Murder.

Prosecuting Attorney Matt Redle informed the Court that he may have to file for a continuance because of a witness's possible inability to testify at Osborne's trial due to a scheduling conflict. Redle said that Scott McWilliams with the State Crime Lab in Cheyenne will be attending the national CODIS meeting that week in Utah.

District Court Judge John Fenn reminded Redle that he would be hard pressed to grant a continuance because of the Court's full docket. Redle stated that he will know more about the situation in the coming days, and that further motions may be filed depending on what he finds out.

A Status Hearing has been scheduled for November 10th at 1 pm, just prior to Osborne's trial, which is scheduled for November 15th trough the 19th. Osborne is charged with 1st Degree Murder for allegedly killing 42-year-old Gerald Bloom earlier this year in January.
