Penrose Place, which is a new 15-unit HUD subsidized apartment complex for senior citizens, will host an open house on Friday afternoon and into the evening from 3-7, and Saturday, from 10-4.
The facility is located on East Sixth Street in Sheridan and is operated by Volunteers of America Northern Rockies.
According to a release, the one-bedroom, unfurnished apartments are complete with kitchens and appliances and each apartment has its own thermostat-controlled furnace and air conditioner. A laundry room is available within the facility at no charge to the tenant, an elevator is located in the center of the building, and there's a community room for residents, social gatherings and programs.
Rent is based on a resident’s adjusted gross income at approximately 30-percent, which is calculated by subtracting approved medical expenses from income. Income limits to qualify for residence are annual incomes of $24,750 for a single or $28,300, for a couple. The individual or spouse must be at least 62 years old.
