The Johnson County Commissioners, at their last meeting, discussed issues with the heating system at the old Kaycee Fire Hall, and eventually tabled further discussions to this week's meeting where they will discuss the matter further.
Commission Chair Delbert Eitel said the old fire hall in Kaycee has three heating units in their system, but two are not working.
There has been some freezing of pipes in the building, which has caused some broken pipes and money spent on repairs.
Powder River Heating and Air Conditioning is recommending putting new units in the building, but Eitel said the building is used mainly for storage purposes and the county might get by with fewer heating units.
He explained his idea to the commissioners.
In a related manner, the commissioners accepted a Memorandum of Understanding between themselves and the Powder River Fire District in Kaycee to provide fire protection and other services in the southern half of the county.
