The 2nd Annual Buffalo Oktoberfest was Saturday in Crazy Woman Square, and nearly 1,300 people came through the gate at the event, according to Buffalo Chamber of Commerce Director Angela Jarvis.

Jarvis said she was happy with how the festival turned out.

New Belgium Brewery and Black Tooth Brewery showcased some of their beers, and 38 local brewers entered their brews in a contest vying for top honors and prizes.

More than $1,000 in prize money was awarded to the top beers in different categories, and the top lager that will be featured at Black Tooth Brewery in Sheridan was submitted by Jack Miller of Casper.

Vendors, food, face-painting and glitter tattoos for the kids, and a petting zoo with ponies provided by Sheridan Media were all enjoyed by those in attendance.

Each beer category was awarded $100 and the winners were: Amber-Ernie Smith of Casper; Wheat-Eric Magnuson of Casper; Stout-Paul McCorkle of Buffalo; Pilsner-Paul Dickenson of Sheridan; Pale Ale-Robert McCorkle; IPA-Paul Dickenson; People's Choice, Stout-Billy Farris.
