The FBI confirmed Monday night that a suspect is in custody for the weekend homicide in Big Horn County. Authorities are not releasing the suspect's name at this time. The update comes from Q2 News out of Billings.
Authorities have confirmed the victim died from multiple stab wounds. The body of 42-year-old Franklin Red Wolf of St. Xavier was found on Saturday around 12:30 in the afternoon, near the Two Leggins river access.
Big Horn County Coroner Terry Bullis said numerous knife type injuries caused the victim to bleed a great deal, which ultimately led to his death.
The Bureau of Indian Affairs, FBI and Big Horn County Sheriff's Office are investigating the death as a homicide. The coroner said he's not sure the exact time Red Wolf died, but estimates it was sometime between midnight and noon on Saturday.
