Officials with Sheridan County, the City of Sheridan, Ranchester, Dayton and Clearmont met Thursday to determine a distribution amount of the $2.8 million in consensus funding from the State Legislature. Sheridan County Administrator Renee' Obermueller says that after representatives with Dayton, Clearmont and Ranchester expressed concerns about low capital facilities tax funding amounts, the group agreed on a proposed amount for everyone involved.
The proposed distribution amount that was agreed upon is as follows: The City of Sheridan would receive $1.6 million, Sheridan County $921,000, Ranchester and Dayton $114,000 each and Clearmont $42,000. The proposal still needs to be approved by the Sheridan City Council and put into a joint resolution that each entity would sign.
That resolution along with a list of prioritized projects from each municipality and Sheridan County will be submitted to the SLIB Board for their approval August 9th.
