An operating budget of $25.9 million for fiscal year 2012 was approved Wednesday by the Northern Wyoming Community College District Board of Trustees. That is about $1 million more than last year's budget. Sheridan College Vice President and Chief Financial Officer Cheryl Heath explains some of the particulars of the College District's budget.
Heath also informed trustees that when the College chose KWN as the Construction Manager at Risk recently, they also nailed down the location of the new Academic Center.
Heath said that August 17th and 18th there will be informational meetings for faculty and staff that will provide a more detailed vision of the Academic Center. In mid September, she said that they are hoping to have some renderings of what the building will look like available to the public.
Construction on the new Academic Center is scheduled to begin in the spring of 2012, with the idea of it being completed for fall semester, 2013.
