NW Pipeline Project Nearing End Of Easement Process

NW Pipeline Project Nearing End Of Easement Process

Buffalo City Attorney Ben Kirven, at the last city council meeting, updated them on the progress of acquiring easements for the NW Water Pipeline Project, saying all but two easements have been negotiated and signed.

The second to the last easement has hit a small snag, with the property owners wanting $80 per rod to secure the easement. If the city agrees to the $80 per rod, according to Kirven, the amount paid by the city for the easement would be roughly $12,400. Kirven said that is significantly higher than the cost the city has secured with other property owners in the area.

Kirven explained further and asked for some direction from
the council.

The council voted to have Mayor Randy Dyess accompany Kirven to assist in the negotiations for the last easements for the project.
