The Sheridan City Council voted unanimously to approve the North Main Development Strategic Plan Monday night after the plan was recommended by the Planning Commission on October 22.

President of the North Main Association in Sheridan and prospective city councilor Shelleen Smith said the NMA looked into how to tackle the revitalization of the North Main Corridor. Smith explains what they can do with the information.

Smith pointed to some recent success in the area including the re-opening of McDonalds on North Main Street, but said there's more work to be done. Both Smith and Brad Mohrmann, an associate with VELA Environmental, said revitalizing the North Main Corridor will not only make life better for the one-third of Sheridan residents who live in the area, but it will also attract new businesses to the city.

We previously reported on details of the strategic plan and its recommendation by the Planning Commission.
