All are invited to the Backcountry Ski and Snowshoe event this Saturday west of Buffalo.

The Wyoming Wilderness Association and the Powder Pass Nordic Skiers and Shoers will co-host a chili feed and Backcountry Ski and Snowshoe event this Saturday, January 15th. It is free and open to the public, but donations are gladly accepted.

Justin Gerard, Johnson County Outreach Specialist with Wyoming Wilderness Association, tells us the events have been put on before, but this year is a little different.

The Backcountry Ski and Shoe will be an organized event, with members of the Nordic Ski Club on hand to give tips and techniques to the public, but you must bring your own gear. All levels of expertise are welcome to attend, said Gerard, and those interested should just plan to be there.

The events will be at the Willow Park Nordic Area from 10 am until 3 pm. The Nordic area is roughly 45 miles west of Buffalo on Highway 16 West.

If you have questions or need directions, contact Gerard at (307) 217-0337, or online at justin@wildwyo.org
