After years of work by many, the train horns have been silenced in downtown Sheridan. Thursday night there was a “No Train Horn” celebration at the Historic Sheridan Inn to commemorate the occasion.
Sheridan Mayor Dave Kinskey says that getting both 5th and 1st Streets designated as Quiet Zones was a team effort.
While the celebration may have taken place Thursday night, the Quiet Zone for the 1st Street crossing went into effect this past Tuesday night October 11th.
