The Sheridan Police Department had a presence at Saturday's Sheridan High School junior and senior prom, and according to a media release from the SPD, there were no reported problems or incidents at either the dance or after party.
Some of the chaperones at both events included school resource officers Dan White and Sam Damon, and the department says they were there to make sure students were staying safe while having a good time.
Office Damon monitored prom at the high school with the assistance of other staff members and overall said students acted respectfully and responsibly the entire time – and that it was a pleasure to be around the group of young adults. The department says both school resource officers try to develop relationships with students throughout the school year, and this was just icing on the cake as they see the seniors move on to the next phase of their lives.
The department says all of Sheridan should be proud of all those who attended the events and that their good behavior was a direct reflection of the values instilled by parents, family and community members.
