Only three candidates have filed for four seats on Ranchester's town council.
Filing for seats in this year's primary has ended. Current Councilman Peter Clark will run unopposed for the office of mayor. Incumbent Allan Moore opted to not seek re-election this year.
Three council seats are up for election, but only two people have filed. Clark's post remains to be filled, as does the seat vacated by Chris Bernard, who did not seek re-election. Candidates are Dennis Dunn, who has filed for another term in office, and newcomer Erin Carbert.
Under Ranchester ordinances, the remaining council seat can be filled by a write-in candidate. If no write-in candidate comes forth, the council can appoint a member until the next election.
