The Sheridan County Commissioners Monday morning held a special meeting to appoint Mike Nickel as the County representative for negotiations with the Lake DeSmet Counties Coalition and Johnson County regarding separation of water rights on Lake DeSmet. Commissioner Nickel says that progress is being made.
Since the deadline to resolve the issue is mid November, Thursday's meeting between the three representatives will be closed to the public.
Nickel said that there will be a public meeting held in the near future once a resolution is reached. The three representatives that will be working together are Dave Garber, representing the LDCC; Mike Nickel representing Sheridan County and John Gibbs representing Johnson County.
