The newest committee of the Sheridan County Chamber of Commerce will host a Chamber Coffee this week at the Wagon Box in Story.

The Business Retention and Expansion Committee event will start at 8 o'clock Thursday in the dining room of the Wagon Box Inn on North Piney Road. The coffee is open to the public.

Chamber CEO Dixie Johnson said the goal of the new committee is to develop tools and programs to help area businesses grow and prosper. She said the committee will also address issues that can affect business retention, productivity and economic competitiveness. She said the Chamber Coffees fit into the mission of the organization by providng an opportunity for business leaders throughout Sheridan County to come together and talk about issues that may be affecting their businesses.

The chamber CEO said the organization began hosting the coffees more than two years ago, and the gatherings have become increasingly popular.
