The Sheridan Equine Hospital held an open house Saturday for two purposes. One...to introduce their newest vet, Dr. Candice Carden and two...to show their continued support for Sheridan College's upcoming Equine Program.

Carden is a Wyoming native. After college, she worked with horses for several years in Texas. She says coming home to Wyoming is a dream come true. She explains what Sheridan Equine Hospital is all about.

Raised on a cattle ranch near Afton, Carden says she can relate to ranchers and a rancher's budget.

Sheridan Equine Hospital owner Dr. Ted Vlahos has been working with horses for over 24 years. He says it's a labor of love.

Vlahos is working with Sheridan College on developing an equine science program, particularly a pre-veternarian program.

The open house included clinic tours and equine medical education from the staff. Sheridan Equine Hospital is located next to Landon's Greenhouse across from Sheridan College.
