Sheridan Junior High School will have a new School Resource Officer when school begins this year. Officer Sam Damon will be the newest SRO this fall, and is one of two Resource Officers in Sheridan Schools. Police Sergeant Tom Ringley says that the SRO's serve on a rotation basis.

Officer Damon explains why he was interested in becoming a School Resource Officer.

Some of Damon's duties at the Junior High will include drug education classes, performing security assessments and to meet with the students and help them with any issues that they may be experiencing.
