Council Chambers at Sheridan City Hall was the site of a ceremony to swear in a new member of the Sheridan Police Department. Sheridan Media's Ron Richter was there and has the story.

Sheridan native, and 2008 Sheridan High School Graduate Kyle Grammens was sworn in by Mayor Dave Kinskey Wednesday. Prior to being sworn in, Sheridan Police Chief Richard Adriaens addressed the crowd by saying that being a police officer is more than just a career.

Grammens says that while he's excited to begin his new position with the police department, he still has some work to do before hitting the streets.

Grammens studied two years at Sheridan College and recently received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Criminal Justice at Chadron State College in Nebraska.
