The City of Sheridan and the Sheridan Recreation District held a ribbon cutting Thursday for the new playground equipment and basketball court in Thorne-Rider Park. Both the playground and basketball court were paid for with optional one cent funds.
Both projects in total came to $66,000, and since the City and Recreation District used their own staff to do much of the labor, it resulted in a savings of approximately $30,000.
