Sheridan Media's Chris Foy brings us this report about a new museum that's in the works at the Brandford Brinton Ranch.
At their Thursday meeting, the Sheridan County Planning and Zoning Commission unanimously recommended the Bradford Brinton Ranch's application for a new museum on the 604 acre propoerty. They are proposing to build a 25,526 square foot museum, gallery and bistro all-in-one - directly into the hillside.
County Planner, Mark Reid, explains the unique architecture that's planned for the museum itself.
The concept of the new museum was well-received by the planning commissioners and also by members of the public in attendance at the meeting. During the public comment period, a neighbor to the Bradford Brinton property, Paul Wallop, said it was a good idea and the County shouldn't miss it. Reid says the county didn't receive a single negative comment from any of the Bradford Brinton Ranch's neighbors.
If approved by the Sheridan County Commissioners at their July 2 meeting - and once construction is completed - the museum would allow for extra gallery and working space, provide a meeting area and a dining hall.
