New Honeylocust - New Tree City

Another tree was planted by the City of Sheridan in Kendrick Park this weekend. This new honeylocust sapling is one of the many trees being planted as part of Sheridan's recent designation as a “Tree City U.S.A.,” a program started by the Arbor Day Foundation. Sheridan Mayor Dave Kinskey explains how this came to fruition.

This is the first time Sheridan has officially been designated as a “Tree City.” Currently, around 34,000 towns and cities around the United States are among the “Tree Cities.”
