The Kaycee/Buffalo/Johnson County Economic Development Joint Powers Board has a new Director/Chief Executive Officer.
Dave Simonsen and his family moved to Buffalo from Cheyenne for him to take advantage of this opportunity.
He has over 15 years' experience in economic development and was most recently with the Wyoming Business Council, where he was the Program Manager for the Business Ready Communities' Grant/Loan Program and the Community Facilities Grant Program.
In his travels throughout the state working for the Wyoming Business Council, he had made a short list of communities he would choose to live and work in if the opportunity presented itself, and Buffalo was at the top of his short list.
Economic development in both Buffalo and Kaycee and in the county will be his overall focus, but now he is concentrating on getting his office prepared and helping to get the Clear Creek School building ready for its new occupants, and getting the leases prepared for the existing and new tenants as well, which will be the priority for the near future.
He explains more about his duties with the
joint powers board.
Simonsen said he and his wife are excited to be in Buffalo and he looks forward to working with everyone in the county to better its economic future.
Economic development and working with businesses is his passion, he enjoys it, and he brings a good background and a lot of experience to the position, which will benefit the county as a whole.
