New Degree Offered at Sheridan College in Johnson County

Sheridan College in Johnson County will be offering a new degree starting this fall, that can be earned solely in Johnson County.
With the Associate of Applied Science, General Technology Degree, students can go to work or move on to earn a four-year degree.
All classes for the Associate Degree will be offered here, with no need to travel to Sheridan or Gillette for any class requirement.
Ami Erickson, Dean of Ag and Technical Careers at Sheridan College, tells us about the degree and what it means to students in Johnson County.
Those earning the degree will be able to move into careers in technical fields such as welding, electrical, diesel mechanics, or in agriculture or agribusiness.
The General Technology, Associate of Applied Science degree is transferable to the University of Wyoming's Outreach Bachelor's of Applied Science degree, allowing Johnson County students to continue their education from home, Erickson said.
Erickson believes there will be more degrees offered in Johnson County in the future, especially if the interest in this current degree is as high as the college believes it will be.
For more information on the degree, contact Erickson at 674-6446, extension 3104.
