The Aquatic Invasive Species program in Wyoming is different this year following changes by the legislature that move the focus of the check stations from individual waters to ports of entry. Game and Fish AIS Crew Leader Greg Downey explains how this will affect boaters in the Sheridan area.

Wyoming boaters using Tongue River Reservoir in Montana and returning to Sheridan on the Decker Highway will not be required to stop at the Sheridan Port of Entry to be inspected if they have no immediate plants to launch their boat in Wyoming.

Downey explains why the zebra and quagga mussels are so disruptive.

Downey said that the AIS check station at the I-90 Port of Entry will open for inspections on April 15th.
