Name of the Man Shot Monday Night Has Been Released

Jesse Salveson, 23, of Sheridan died from the results of his injuries from a gunshot wound he received during an officer involved shooting that occurred Monday, July 4th on west Nebraska Street in Sheridan, according to Deputy Coroner Kerrie Kimmel.

During the incident Monday evening, officers responded to a domestic dispute. According to Detective Lt. Chris Dahmke, Salveson stabbed an unnamed officer in the arm and then Salveson was shot by police.

The name of the officer in the shooting will not be released until DCI determines what direction its investigation of the incident will take, County Attorney Matt Redle said Tuesday.
