Museum Benefits from Holiday Event

A holiday dinner and meeting planned by the Sheridan County Historical Society will be held Thursday night, Dec. 5, at the Sheridan Center. The event begins at 5:30, with a silent auction to benefit the Sheridan County Museum.

Board member Katie Curtiss said the society actually runs the museum.

As part of the fund-raising event, there will also be a 50/50 drawing and dinner, that starts at 6, followed by a program featuring author Gary Temple.

Temple will be discussing his book, “E.W. Gollings: A Record of Happenings.” According to Amazon.com, this is Temple's third writing on the artist, Elling William “Bill” Gollings, written to finally clarify the correct history of the artist. Along with intense studies of the artist's personal diaries, the book is described as a piece that brings the readers the “wonderful characteristics” of the man and artist.

Books will be sold at the event and the author will be available for book signings after the program. Tickets for the dinner, auction, and book signing are $17. Reservations are required and can be made by calling the museum. The number is 675-1150. The museum is located at 850 Sibley Circle in Sheridan. The Museum’s website is www.SheridanCountyHistory.org.
