It was mud, mud, and we're talking ankle deep mud, at the opening of the rodeo carnival Wednesday evening, but that didn't dampen the spirits of those attending, especially the kids.
Squeals of delight as well as screams of fright could be heard throughout the carnival grounds and parents sloshed right on through, getting their kids on to the next ride.
Stevie Goddard from Banner was there with her two boys and summed it up this way.
There was just no getting by it, everyone had mud on them from a thunderstorm that passed through. This mom found out she just had to get over it. Cassidy Camino of Buffalo explains.
The still famous “Zipper” is there with the “Kamikazi,” along with the “Ferris Wheel” and “Merry-Go-Round,” among others. But the mud proved to provide another hazard for carnival goers...flying mud balls as the goo flew off the feet of riders onto the spectators below.
Kathy Wheeler was there with her daughter Aubrey and she took it all in stride.
Wheeler did have some timely advice.
New rides this year include the “Truckin' USA cute kid ride, a super slide and the “Star Trooper.” The carnival ends Saturday night.
