A media release issued by Visionary Communications stated that at 10:02 am Friday, a contractor ran an auger through a 24 pair fiber cable between Buffalo and Sheridan, affecting services for both communities for much of the day. The service was restored at 5:07 pm Friday.
The incident affected DSL, T1 and fiber customers in Buffalo and Sheridan. It also affected DSL clients in RT communities such as Newcastle, Upton and Worland.
A road was dug up and a conduit under the road was replaced, which is why it took most of the day to restore service.
